Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup apple cider
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ¼ cup light brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¾ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¾ teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add the egg and mix well, then stir in the apple cider until smooth.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Gradually add this mixture to the wet ingredients until just combined.
  4. Scoop dough onto the prepared baking sheet with space between each ball.
  5. For the topping, combine additional sugar with cinnamon in a small bowl. Roll each dough ball in this mixture before placing it on the sheet.
