Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • ½ cup water
  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¾ cups heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon cold unsalted butter
  • 6 medium apples (washed, sliced)
  • Optional: 6 oz. dark chocolate chips
  • Optional: 1 tablespoon oil for chocolate coating

Instructions

  1. Wash and slice apples into wedges. Prepare any additional toppings.
  2. In a heavy-bottomed saucepan, combine sugar, water, and salt over medium heat until sugar dissolves.
  3. Boil without stirring until the mixture turns golden amber (about 5-7 minutes). Carefully add heavy cream while stirring constantly; remove from heat and stir in butter.
