- 1 3/4 cups (415ml) warm water
- 1/4 cup (60ml) extra virgin olive oil, plus extra for drizzling
- 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary leaves
- Coarse sea salt for sprinkling
Instructions
- Warm water until just lukewarm and combine with yeast in a mixing bowl. Let sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- In another bowl, mix flour and salt; create a well in the center.
- Pour yeast mixture and olive oil into the well and stir until a shaggy dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
- Place in an oiled bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours until doubled.
- Punch down the dough, shape it into a rectangle on a greased baking sheet, cover again, and let rise for another hour.
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Dimple the risen dough with fingers, drizzle with olive oil, and sprinkle with rosemary and sea salt.
- Bake for about 25 minutes or until golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly before slicing; serve warm.
