Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 heads garlic
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • ¾ cup whole milk
  • ½ cup parmesan cheese
  • 1 ball pizza dough (16oz)
  • 8oz provolone cheese
  • 4oz fresh mozzarella cheese
  • Optional protein: shredded chicken or Italian sausage
  • Fresh thyme and basil leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F. Prepare garlic heads by slicing off tops, drizzling with olive oil, salt, and pepper, wrapping in foil, and roasting for 50-60 minutes until golden.
  2. Squeeze out cloves from two heads into a bowl and mash into a paste; keep cloves from the third head intact for topping.
  3. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter and whisk in flour for one minute. Gradually add milk and bring to a simmer until thickened. Stir in garlic paste and parmesan until smooth.
  4. Preheat oven to 450°F with your pizza stone inside.
  5. Roll out dough on a floured surface, then transfer to a semolina-dusted peel.
  6. Spread garlic sauce evenly over dough. Top with provolone, mozzarella, and roasted garlic cloves.
  7. Bake on the hot stone for about 14-15 minutes until crust is golden brown and cheese is bubbly.
  8. Garnish with fresh herbs and drizzle with hot honey or balsamic glaze before serving.
