Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup warm water (100-110°F)
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon instant dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 2 teaspoons dried rosemary
  • 6 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 2 to cups all-purpose flour
  • ⅓ cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon butter (for topping)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast by combining it with sugar and warm water in a large mixing bowl; let it sit for one minute until foamy.
  2. Stir in salt, herbs, and garlic until well mixed.
  3. Add 2 cups of flour and parmesan cheese; mix until a sticky dough forms.
  4. Gradually knead in more flour until the dough is soft and stretchy.
  5. Oil a bowl, place the dough inside, cover with a towel or plastic wrap, and let rise for about one hour until doubled in size.
  6. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) while greasing a baking sheet with olive oil.
  7. Punch down the dough, divide it into two balls, shape them into rounds on the baking sheet, and let them rise again for about 15-20 minutes.
  8. Brush each round with melted butter before baking for 18-20 minutes or until golden brown.
