  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 45 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ cup beef broth
  • ¼ cup milk (optional)
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, add olive oil. Sauté chopped onion and minced garlic until soft.
  3. Add ground beef and cook until browned; drain excess fat if necessary.
  4. In a baking dish, layer half of the sliced potatoes, followed by half of the cooked beef mixture. Season with Italian seasoning, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  5. Repeat layering with remaining potatoes and beef mixture.
  6. Pour beef broth evenly over layers; mix in milk if using.
  7. Top with shredded cheddar and grated Parmesan cheese.
  8. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes; remove foil and bake an additional 15 minutes until cheese is bubbly.
