  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ cup salted butter (softened)
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 44 Whoppers (for decoration)
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In one bowl, mix flour, baking soda, and baking powder. In another bowl, cream together softened butter with both sugars until fluffy.
  3. Add egg, peanut butter, and vanilla; mix well. Gradually incorporate dry ingredients until combined.
  4. Scoop dough into balls, roll in granulated sugar, and place on prepared sheets about 2 inches apart.
  5. Bake for approximately 8 minutes until edges are lightly golden. Cool slightly before transferring to a rack.
  6. For decoration: Melt chocolate chips and dip Whoppers in the chocolate; attach them to the center of each cookie as spider bodies. Use decorating gel to create legs and eyes.
