  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 small cabbage, shredded
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes (with juice)
  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • 1 tbsp vinegar and broth mixture (as Worcestershire sauce substitute)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef with the chopped onion for about 7 minutes. Drain excess fat.
  3. Stir in the shredded cabbage, diced tomatoes (with juice), cooked rice, vinegar and broth mixture, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Combine thoroughly.
  4. Simmer the mixture for about 5 minutes to meld flavors.
  5. Transfer the mixture to the greased baking dish and spread evenly.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 30–35 minutes until cabbage is tender.
  7. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving warm.
