  • 1 ½ lbs ground beef
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tbsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • Marinara sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, onion, garlic, bread crumbs, eggs, Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, and salt and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  3. Shape the mixture into a rectangular loaf on a baking sheet and create a well in the center.
  4. Fill the well with mozzarella cheese and spinach (if using), then spoon marinara sauce on top.
  5. Fold the meat around the filling to seal it and spread additional marinara sauce over the top.
  6. Bake for 45-55 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
  7. Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serve with extra marinara sauce.
